How to Make
Step 1
Cut 6, 90cm lengths of wool. (every 3 pieces of wool will act as one cord) Tie these in 2 groups of 3, onto the D ring with lark’s head knots.
Step 2
Clip the keyring to a clipboard or secure loop and separate the wool into groups of 3, making the 4 cords.
Step 3
Working with the outer cords only, create a half square knot (see template). As you tighten the knot pull down the middle 2 cords so that the knot sits tight. Continue creating the half square knots with the same technique for as long as you want the key chain to be.
Step 4
To fasten off the end of the keychain, cut another length of wool and hold the tail pointing upward at the end of the key chain creating a downward loop.
Step 5
Wrap the remaining wool around the end of the keychain, making sure the bottom loop and top short piece of wool are sticking out. Insert the end of the wrapping wool into the loop and pull the top piece of wool to encase the tail. Snip the excess and trim the keychain.
