Top Tip
You could also sandwich the knotted end inside an air tight container weighted down with items inside if you don't have a surface to tape it to.
How to Make
- Start by cutting three pieces of white string about a metre long each. Tie them all together in a double knot at one end, leaving enough excess string above the knot to secure the necklace later. Tape down the knotted end onto a table and make sure it's properly secured by giving it a few tugs.
- Take the middle string and slide on a purple Hama bead pushing it all the way to the top of the knot. Grab the left string and loop it under the middle string then thread back into the loop you just created. Pull tight. Repeat this with the right piece of string so that the outcome is the Hama bead is secure and unable to slide. Pull the three threads down together so they're back in their starting positions (you'll have string showing on each side of the bead).
- Repeat this step with nineteen other purple beads. To make things easier, and to save time, pick out twenty beads of each colour you'll be using. After the purple you'll need blue, green, yellow, and orange, then lastly red.
- When you get to the end of the beading process, plait the remaining string and tie in a knot.
