To give your rings a little sparkle, why not outline edges with a glitter glue pen?
How to Make
-
Rose Ring
- Cut a large flower shape with a large area in the centre and shallow petals from red felt.
- Starting from the edge of a petal, carefully cut into the felt in a circular motion to create a spiralled shape.
- Take the centre of the spiral and start stitching the felt together. Work your way out from the middle to create a rose.
- Fix a small circle of felt to the bottom of the rose. Heat up the glue gun and stick the flower to the top of a ring blank.
-
Butterfly Ring
- Cut two butterfly shapes, one slightly smaller than the other, from dark and light purple felt.
- Place the smaller motif in the centre of the larger one then stitch the butterflies together.
- Heat up a glue gun then fix the butterflies to the top of a ring blank.
-
Pin Cushion Ring
- Cut six same-sized petal shapes from different coloured felt. Join two shapes by stitching the middle section together.
- Continue adding more shapes by stitching the middles until they are all attached in a line. Now sew the first and last shapes together to make a ring.
- Carefully stitch the tops of the shapes together and repeat for the bottom but leave one section un-sewn.
- Using the unstitched section, turn your shape inside out so that none of the sewing is visible. Using very small stitches, close up the remaining gap. You will now have a flat circular shape.
- To make a 3D motif, gather the bottom of the shape together and tightly stitch it in place. Wrap a length of embroidery thread around your motif for a decorative effect, securing the ends at the bottom then use a hot glue gun to stick the shape to a ring blank.
-
Embroidered Ring
- Cut two 4cm diameter circles from green felt. Sew a sequin to the centre of one then stitch concentric circles around the sequin.
- Turn the embroidered shape over so the sequin is on the reverse then stitch the circles together, leaving a small gap to turn your work inside out.
- Once you have turned your work, carefully close up the gap with small stitches.
- Heat up a glue gun then use this to stick your embroidered shape to a ring blank. Next stitch the circles together, leaving a small gap to turn your work inside out.
- Once you have turned your work, carefully close up the gap with small stitches.
- Heat up a glue gun then use this to stick your embroidered shape to a ring blank.
