Top Tip
Try practising writing with the glue gun on scrap paper before starting on the canvas. Maintain speed and pressure to make it easier.
How to Make
- Use a pencil to carefully mark out the word, phrase or doodle that will form the 3D piece of your design onto the canvas.
- Allow the glue gun to heat up fully and begin carefully working over the outline of the letters or words.
- Work slowly and steadily over the letters to create even lines of glue. Once the word has been outlined in glue set aside to dry fully.
- Create the ombre effect by using the darkest colours of paint at the bottom, mixing with white and then blending up the front of the canvas using the lightest one.
- For a professional finish, paint around the sides of the canvas extending the ombre over the sides, so there are no unpainted surfaces remaining. Allow to dry fully before hanging.
