Top Tip
Solid bamboo circles without holes can be used individually as containers for small stationery items like paperclips and erasers.
How to Make

- Arrange 2, 3 or 4 bamboo circles into a stack without gluing them. Repeat to make a couple more stacks at different heights. Re-arrange the circles to find the best sizes and combinations. When you’ve found the right combination, lightly sand the edges on each piece. Glue the bamboo into tube-shaped containers. Leave each stack to dry separately.
- Before gluing the bamboo stacks together, wrap 60cm-80cm pieces of twine around each one. Glue the ends so the twine stays neatly wrapped, or tie the ends into knots.
- Glue the tubes onto a wooden coaster as a base. For a free standing design, glue card circles to cover the holes at the bottom, apply glue along the sides of the tubes, press them together then leave to dry.
- To decorate the desk tidy, tie a wooden flower onto some twine then tie it onto one of the tubes. The bamboo can be left natural or brushed lightly with white paint or a colour.
