Top Tip
When painting the ombre effect, it’s very important to work fast to ensure maximum blend!
How to Make
- Roll the clay into a 1cm slab and using an empty mug as a reference, imprint the mug into the clay slab, then cut the shape with a clay tool.
- Roll out a thin, long piece of clay with he same thickness through out and form it into a spiral. This will sit in the middle of your coaster.
- Next create circles to go around the spiral, building them up till the surface is covered.
- Allow your bowl to dry for 1-2 days - it will turn white when fully dried.
- To paint an ombrè effect, take a colour and paint around the edges of the coaster. You need to work fast. Then taking a lighter hue of the same colour blend the darker colour into the lighter colour creating a seamless blend.
- Allow to dry over night and finish your project with our brush-on varnish for a glossy finish.
