Save Our Planet Interactive Paper Plate

How to Make

1. Firstly, sketch your Earth design onto a green plate with abstract shapes for the land.
2. Paint the negative space (the ocean) blue using blue multi-purpose deco paint pots and a paintbrush.
3. From the template choose 5 of your favourite designs and colour them in using fine tip fibre tip pens. Then cut out your 5 designs.
4. Using the template draw and cut out the large circle from an orange paper plate then draw and cut out the smaller circle from a yellow paper plate.
5. To create the core of the Earth, stick and layer the orange circle onto a red paper plate and then the yellow circle on top.
6. Find the middle of both paper plates and create a hole using a pencil.
7. Using the template cut a section out of the earth paper plate.
8. Place the earth paper plate on top of the core paper plate and push the split pin through both plates.
9. Stick your coloured-in designs onto the core paper plate. Spin the earth paper plate until you can’t see the previous coloured in design and repeat by sticking the next design down. Repeat for all 5 coloured in designs onto the core.
10. Spell out ‘Save our Planet’ using orange glitter foam letters above the cut out section.
11. Lastly spin the plates to see all your designs and have fun learning about how to save our planet.

Top Tip

Make sure that the split pin is pushed through the centre of the paper plates so that the paper plates line up when the plates are spun.
