Gratitude Jar

This jar is a lovely activity. Children can write something they are grateful for each day on colourful sticks, and when the jar is full, they can look back over what they wrote. It’s a great self-awareness activity focusing on the positives of each day.

  1. Cut out the template in black card and make the label for the jar.
  2. Take a clean jar and decorate it with doodles using deco pens.
  3. Paint craft sticks in the colours of your choosing and let dry.
  4. Take your label and thread a length of string folded in half through the hole, thread the end of these threads through the loop and pull to secure the label.
  5. Thread pony beads onto each side of string and tie around the top of your jar. Trimming any loose ends.
  6. Write the things you are thankful for onto the craft sticks.
