How to Make

Step 1

Autumn Apple Printing Crate

Firstly, squirt various coloured acrylic paint in a tray. We used a combination of red, yellow, orange and green. Cut an apple in half (get an adult to help) and dip the flat part of an apple into the paint. Then, print the apple onto the A3 sheet of white card. Draw a stalk on some of the apples using a black pen. When the paint is dry cut out the apple prints using scissors.

Step 2

Cut out 3 strips of recycled Kraft card, the length of A4 by 3cm and 2 shorter strips, 18cm by 3cm. Then, cut out a rectangle from black card, 18cm by 5cm. Punch a hole either side of the black rectangle and the top corners of the A3 white card.

Step 3

Stick the kraft card strips in a crate formation with 3 strips horizontal and a vertical strip either side. Made sure to only glue the ends of the strips so the apples can be slid in and out. Write the price of your apples onto the black card using a piece of white chalk. Cut 2 lengths of jute twine, thread them through the holes and tie a knot.

Lastly, place your apples in the crate. You can stick them down if you don’t want the apples to move.
