Tree Chart

Teach children about the world around them with this colourful picture of an Oak Tree. They can choose the tree they’d like to create, then learn about its characteristics such as leaf shape, whether it sheds its leaves in autumn, whether it bears any fruit or flowers and where it’s most likely to be found.

How to Make

  1. Take a piece of white card and draw on a tree trunk with fibre tip pens. Select the correct type of leaf from your stick packs, so if you’re creating an Oak Tree, make sure you chose the right shape of leaf.
  2. Starting with the felt stickers, begin to build up the leaf part of your tree, starting close to the top of the trunk and working upwards and outwards.
  3. Add felt (oak) leaf stickers to fill in the gaps and complete your tree. Next, affix acorns around the tree using a glue gun or PVA glue. Leave to dry.
  4. Spell out ‘Oak Tree’ in self-adhesive foam letters across the top.

Top Tip

Try punching a hole in both top corners and feeding a length of ribbon or string through, knotting both ends on the reverse to create a hanger.
