How to Make
Step 1
Firstly, using the template, print, draw and cut out the shapes. Then, assemble the accessories, you can use foam board to wrap the fireplace and radio template around.
Step 2
Prepare the walls of the doll’s house by making a chimney breast from foam board. Paint the flower printed paper with a wash of watered-down white paint to dull down the colour. Then, paint the top quarter of the doll’s house using white acrylic paint. Stick the flooring onto the wooden base of the doll’s house, try to match the pattern as best as possible. When the paint is dry, cut down and stick the floral paper to the walls, making sure to match up the pattern as best as possible.
Step 3
Cut, paint and stick thin wooden lollipop craft sticks to the top of the wallpaper to create the picture rail. Then do the same with jumbo craft sticks for the skirting. To make the tables, stick wooden craft sticks together, you can cut down the craft sticks to make your desired length and width table. To add the legs to your table, cut down natural wooden craft sticks and stick them to all 4 corners of the table (get an adult to help you cut the craft sticks).
Step 4
For the curtains, concertina fold the paper. Use a skewer or a sharp pencil to make small holes through the top of the curtains (get an adult to help). Thread the paper curtains onto the skewer and stick a wooden bead onto each end. Stick the doilie to the lower half of the window to create the net curtains. Then stick the curtains and curtain pole to the window.
Step 5
Paint the wooden people and place a party hat onto their heads.
Step 6
Lastly, place and stick the doll’s house furniture and accessories into the doll’s house.
