Top Tip
If you don't have any red card for the inner segment, colour in white card with felt pen.
How to Make
- Take a green paper plate and cut it into two equal-sized halves. Measure out the inner semi-circle onto a piece of red card and cut out.
- Stick the red semi circle onto the inner semi-circle of one paper plate half using Glue Dots. Now you have a watermelon segment! Repeat for as many 'slices' as you would like a minimum of five is a good idea to play the game.
- Once you have your watermelon slices completed, take a black pen and draw a different number of 'seeds' onto each slice, as shown. Start with one seed and work up and this will be the number that the children work with in their sums later.
- Now you need to create your maths symbols. Select a + and x or - sign from the foam letters sheet and stick onto a small red square of card. Do the same for an 'equals' sign. You're ready to play!
