How to Make

  1. Firstly, using the template, draw a circle in the centre of the green plate.
  2. Then, using the template, draw a pot of gold at the bottom of the circle previously drawn.
  3. Cut around the negative space of the pot of gold. You can create a hole with a pencil for your scissors to slide through, to help you cut out the shape.
  4. Using the template draw around the shamrock shape in the centre of the pot of gold.
  5. Hole punch 20 holes around the top half of the cut-out shape and 6 holes at the top of the pot of gold.
  6. Paint the top half of the paper plate blue and the pot of gold black, leaving the shamrock unpainted.
  7. Allow the paint to dry.
  8. Cut a length of red wool and secure one end to the back of the pot of gold using sticky tape, then thread it through the first hole in the pot of gold.
  9. Thread a gold bead onto the wool and thread it through the first hole in the sky, then bring the wool back through the first hole in the pot of gold.
  10. Continue to thread the gold beads onto the red yarn as you thread it through the holes.
  11. When you change colour, cut off the excess red wool and stick it to the back of the paper plate.
  12. Then repeat the previous steps with orange yarn through the second hole in the pot of gold.
  13. Repeat these steps for each of the colours.
  14. When the rainbow is complete, cut a length of orange yarn, create a loop and stick it to the back of the paper plate so that you can hang it in your home.
  15. Lastly use gold glitter glue to fill in the shamrock on the pot of gold.
