Origami Swan  

 Origami is the art of folding paper. “Oru” in Japanese means ‘to fold’ and “Kami” in Japanese means ‘Paper’. Have a go at making a beautiful swan out of one square of paper.

How to Make

  1. Start with a square of paper (you will need to cut a perfect square if you are using a4).
  2. Placing the square on the table Fold the right point over to the left point creating a central vertical crease and then unfold.
  3. Fold the lower left and right diagonal edges in to align with the central vertical crease.
  4. Turn over your shape and fold the left and right diagonal edges to the central crease again.
  5. Fold the bottom point up to meet the top point.
  6. Fold the top point down about 2cm to create the head. And down again.
  7. Lift the bird and fold the back section in half.
  8. Gently pull on the swan’s neck and fold when you are at a position you like.
  9. Adjust so that the swan stands independently.

Top Tip

Be sure to use your nail to make each fold really tight for the best end result.
