How to Make
Step 1
Using the template, cut out 3 of the large squares, 2 of the smaller squares and 1 rectangle from the origami paper.
Step 2
To create the first folded leaf, take one of the large squares and fold it in half diagonally. Open the square and fold in the sides to meet the middle line to create a kite shape.
Step 3
Fold down the top triangle flap then open the square again and tuck the top triangle inside the side folds. Fold down the top 2 points to meet the middle line.
Step 4
Open one of the sides and press in the top triangle, push up the excess paper and flatten down the fold. Do this on the other side to complete the first shape. Repeat this for last 4 squares.
Step 5
Glue the inside flaps of the shapes down, then stick them together in an overlapping fashion to create the maple leaf shape.
Step 6
To make the stalk of the leaf take the rectangle and fold in the sides. Glue this face down onto the back of the leaf to finish!
