String Letters

Time to Make

45 minutes

How to Make

  1. Select your chosen wooden letters to spell out a word, name or even a phrase. Draw out a length of string and, starting at one end of the letter, position on the back and glue into place.
  2. Once the glue has fully dried, draw the string around to the front of the letter and secure in place with a dab of glue. Continue working around the entire letter, wrapping the string and securing it with small dabs of glue.
  3. Once the letter is fully covered with string and the glue has fully dried, select your chosen fabric paints and begin adding some colour to the letters. Try blue and white stripes, like this to create a beach hut vibe. Allow to dry fully and add a second coat as necessary.

Top Tip

Work with very thin lines of hot glue when securing the wrapped sections, this way when the string is pressed down onto it excess glue won't be visible on the surface of the letter.
