How to Make

Step 1

Cut 5mm wide strips from the dark red, light red, and green coloured paper. Cut a 0.25cm wide strip from the yellow paper.

Step 2

To create the large petals, glue two dark red strips together and roll them up tightly. Gently release the roll until it opens into a spiral with a diameter of approximately 3cm. Glue the spiral in place, then pinch both ends to create a petal shape. Repeat to make 8 petals.

Step 3

To create the smaller petals, glue a light red strip to a dark red strip and roll it up, making sure to start rolling from the light red end. Allow the roll to loosen slightly until it reaches a diameter of around 1.5cm. Glue it in place and pinch the corners to form a petal shape. Repeat until you have 6 smaller petals.

Step 4

Glue the petals together along the edges to create two flower layers. Once dry, glue the smaller flower layer on top of the larger one.

Step 5

Use the green strips to create 3 leaves in the same way as the large petals, then glue them into the corners of the flower. To make the centre of the flower, cut the yellow strip in half lengthways. Cut the thinner strip into 3 different lengths, roll each piece, glue them in place, and attach them to the centre of the flower.

Step 6

Glue the poinsettia onto the card. Finish by brushing a small amount of glue onto the front of the flower and sprinkling with gold glitter for a festive sparkle!
