Paper Plate Snow Globe

Top Tip

Do not apply too much glue to the cut-out paper plate as it will become flat and lose its shape.

  1. To start, paint the bottom quarter of a paper plate white.
  2. When the paint has dried, apply glue on top and sprinkle artificial snow on top of the glue.
  3. On another paper plate, cut out the inside circle using scissors.
  4. Apply a thin layer of glue and apply iridescent glitter on top.
  5. Using the template, draw and cut out the penguin features.
  6. Stick and assemble the features. To create a striped hat and scarf, cut out thin strips of card. Remember to put a pom pom on top of the hat.
  7. Stick the penguin to the snowy plate and stick a white pom pom to the penguin’s flipper. Next, use a white deco pen to draw falling snow.
  8. Sprinkle foil snowflakes and more artificial snow on top - these will be loose to move around when shaking the snow globe.
  9. Cut to size and stick clear cellophane to the inside of the cut-out paper plate. Remember to trim off the excess.
  10. To finish, stick the paper plates together to form the snow globe and stick some silver gems on top. Shake your snow globe and have fun watching the snowflakes move around!
