Top Tip
Use a compass to create the circle guides on the background.
How to Make
- Pre-mix your paint colours into a palette, remembering that aboriginal art consists of earthy colours that would have originally been made from natural pigments.
- Use a sponge to paint your canvas brown and allow to dry.
- Print off the template and draw around the turtle then paint the turtle black and let dry.
- On the background draw circles of different sizes lightly with a pencil.
- Using your cotton buds dip them into the colours and trace the circles filling your background with dots.
- Now mark out the turtle shell patten in pencil and design this using different colour dots to the background.
- Allow to dry and enjoy your aboriginal art piece.
