Top Tip
Make sure the strips are loose enough to move freely.
How to Make
Step 1

Make sure you print the grid or template onto a sturdy piece of paper so it holds up well during the next steps. Fill in the numbers clearly and legibly.
Step 2

Attach the printed template to the black card using glue or double-sided tape. When cutting around it, leave at least a 1-inch border around the edges to give it a neat, framed look.
Step 3

Cut the strips carefully to ensure they’re of equal length. The extra-long strips will form the tabs to allow the movable sections to work.
Step 4

Use a craft knife or scissors to create a rectangular slit in the centre of each strip. This is where the movable part will go, so keep the width consistent.
Step 5

Once you’ve folded the strip around the grid, secure the longer tab at the back to allow the strip to move. Repeat this with the second strip to create both horizontal and vertical movements. The overlap will make the movable sections work like sliders.
Step 6

Add stars (or any other embellishments you like) around the grid to give it a fun, creative touch. You could use stickers, glitter, or even hand-drawn designs.
