How to Make
- Give each child a Design Your Own Clock kit and show them how to divide it up into different sections, using the picture as a guide.
- Encourage children to colour the clock in the shades of their choice, then affix the number stickers in the correct positions around the outside, perhaps using an actual clock for guidance.
- Colour and assemble the hands. Hold a group activity where a specific time is called out and children have to move the hands on their clocks to that particular time, then hold it in the air when they are finished.
Top Tip
Try to avoid using too many different decorations on the clock as it may distract from the numbers and confuse children who are new to the concept of telling the time.
