How to Make
- Choose 26 stones from the pack. Try to select stones that have a flattish surface to make it easier for children to write on.
- Start by writing one letter of the alphabet on each stone, using different coloured pens. Ask children to lay them out in order as you go.
- When you have a full alphabet, start edging each letter piece with a different coloured pen to make it stand out from the rest and easy to see. You can also do a row of uppercase alphabet and lowercase alphabet.
- Create some extra vowels so there are more options for the game. Edge these with pen as before then mix them all up in a heap. You’re not ready to play.
Top Tip
Use deco pens to write on the stones, as they are easy to control or if the stones are much smaller, use thin-tipped nibs like our Fab Fibre Tip Pens.
