How to Make

1. Paint a cardboard tube with brown paint, making sure the insides of the tube are also painted. Whilst the tube is drying, paint 4 circular foam beads black. Leave everything to dry.
2. Draw an oval on a brown sheet of foam that is roughly half the length of the cardboard tube. On either side of the top of the oval draw two smaller ovals to make the ears. Cut this shape out.
3. Cut two lengths of dark brown pipe cleaner that are roughly the same size as the oval face in step 2. Wrap two short lengths of the same colour pipe cleaner around the ends and trim if necessary. Arrange them into a fork shape. Stick the antlers to the back of the oval head in between the ears. Leave to dry.
4. Using a pencil, mark two points on the bottom-front of the brown cardboard tube. Mark 2 more holes at the top of the tube that are on opposite sides of the tube. Gently poke the pencil through the tube at these points. Take two pipe cleaners the same colour as the ones used in step 3 and thread them through the holes to create the reindeer’s arms and legs. To keep the pipe cleaners in place, dab a small amount of glue on the inside of the holes. Thread the black jumbo foam beads from step 1 onto the ends of the pipe cleaners.
5. On the front of the brown oval stick a small glittery red pom-pom and two self-adhesive wiggle-eyes. Draw on eyebrows and a smile and leave the face to dry.
6. Cut a thin length of felt long enough to wrap around the cardboard tube. Along the length of the felt use red thread to sew on 7 gold bells. Tie off the thread and stick the band around the middle of the cardboard tube. It is best to wait for the belt to dry before moving the reindeer.
7. Stick the face of the reindeer to the top of the cardboard tube. Make sure the top of the head is above the edge of the tube. Leave to dry.

Top Tip

To make this craft for durable and cut down on drying time, have an adult use a Bostik cool melt glue gun instead of PVA glue.
