How to Make

  1. Divide a piece of white card up into equal sized rectangles. If you are going to be colouring in the designs with younger children, choose larger shapes, for older children you can go smaller as they’ll be used to colouring within the lines.
  2. Choose your flag designs. Go for simple, easy-to-recognise designs for younger children and build up into more complex designs for older children who will be able to cope with recreating emblems and fiddly logos.
  3. Colour your flag designs with felt pen and put to one side. Cut out another set of same-sized rectangles. This time, write the country name that corresponds with each flag you’ve designed. Use big easy to read letters or foam letter stickers. Once every flag has a matching country card, you’re ready to play!

Top Tip

Start with simple flag designs and work up as some are quite complex to copy.
