How to Make
- Draw a dove and trace around it onto white card, then carefully cut out. Take a piece of gold tissue and trim to 15cm x 25cm. This will become the wings.
- Concertina fold the gold tissue paper, with each concertina fold measuring approximately 1cm. Make a horizontal slit in the middle of the dove, 2cm from the top edge. With the wings still folded, feed the shortest edge through the slit, arranging it so an equal amount of paper is on each side. Fan the wings out, as shown.
- Add a sequin to each side of the dove's face for eyes. Draw two matching cross shapes onto silver card and cut out, then glue them back to back. Decorate with a small cross-shaped acrylic jewel in the middle of the main cross on each side.
- Use a bamboo skewer or cocktail stick to punch a hole centrally through the top and bottom of the dove, then do the same for the cross. Cut a long length of white elastic and thread it through the top and bottom of the dove, leaving plenty of excess on each side. Thread the bottom piece through the top and bottom of the cross, then add a selection of small bells, knotting between each one to secure. To finish, tie the end in a knot and trim.
Add some glitter glue to the dove's wings for a fantastic shimmery finish.
