How to Make

  1. Take some white clay and about half as much red clay. Squash and twist together until the colours have blended completely to make pink.
  2. Roll the clay between your palms to make a smooth ball shape. If the clay has cracks in it try smoothing it with damp but not wet hands.
  3. Place the ball on a flat surface and push your thumb into the centre. Turn your thumb in the hole to enlarge it so that it will be big enough to hold a few trinkets or a candle.
  4. Choose some round gemstones and carefully push them into the surface of the pot, starting from the top edge. If it helps, dab a bit of water on the clay to make the gems stick better. Leave to dry overnight.

Top Tip

Push the stones in hard enough for the clay to surround them. If any fall out, simply glue back into position.
