Top Tip
If you don’t want to rub the balloon on your hair you can rub it on a jumper or the carpet.
How to Make
- Print out the template and cut out two wings out of tissue paper
- Next, cut the body out of card and decorate with a face.
- Place everything to one side for the time being.
- Take a sheet of A3 card and fold it in half like a book.
- Take the wing template and faintly draw the outline onto one half with the centre touching the folded line.
- Dab paint onto one half of the paper within the wing guide you just drew.
- Fold in half and squash the card together.
- When you open the page, it will look symmetrical like butterfly wings.
- Allow to dry.
- Once dry, stick your tissue paper wings into just the centre of the picture so that they are free to flap.
- To finish, stick your butterfly body in the middle of the wings and draw antenna.
- To make your wings flap, rub the blown up balloon on your hair and then rub it on the wings.
- Lift the balloon away from your picture and see how the wings stick to the balloon as if by magic.
