How to Make

  1. Fold a piece of white card in half to make a card blank. Turn so the fold is at the top and draw a large heart in the centre with a pencil, so the curves at the top overlap the fold (use our hreat template). Cut around the top curves with scissors through both thicknesses of card.
  2. Open out the card before cutting away the pointed base of the heart shape from the top layer of card only. This will allow the card to stand up properly without tipping over. Use a red sparkle glitter pen to draw a stitch design around the edge of the heart.
  3. Cut out a large heart from red paper, making sure it fits inside the card shape . Write an ‘I’ and a ‘U’ on either side of the heart with a silver sparkle glitter pen and add another line of stitches around the edge.
  4. Glue the red heart to the middle of the card. Place a felt heart sticker in between the two letters. Tear part of the backing paper from the top of another felt heart and fix to the base of the card. Do the same for the other side so they rest on the table when the card is opened. Finish off by adding spots of glitter around the heart and to the ‘stitches’.

Top Tip

To cut a tricky into a card leave the back part as a rectangle so it stands up easily.
