You can paint some wooden people to create characters for the dolls house.
How to Make
Step 1
Walls and Flooring: Firstly, print out the brick wall and flooring onto paper. Cut and stick the brick pattern on the outside wall and stick the flooring onto the wooden base of the dolls house. Try to match the pattern as best as possible for the brick wall and flooring. Paint one wall light purple by mixing white and purple acrylic paint together. Then stick stripy printed paper on one of the walls, you will need to use 2 sheets to cover the entire wall, make sure to match the pattern for a seamless finish. Assemble the walls and flooring together.
Step 2
Skirting: Cut jumbo wood craft sticks to size and paint them white. When they are dry, stick them to the bottom of the walls.
Step 3
Table: To make the table, stick 5 wooden craft sticks together. You can do this by sticking 2 or 3 craft sticks across to secure them in place. For the table legs, cut the ends off of 2 craft sticks and stick them to all 4 corners of the table. Paint the table brown and let dry.
Step 4
Sofa: Paint the sofa brown. Using the template, cut out the sofa cushions and lightly score along the lines (get an adult to help you). Fold and stick the flaps together to form the cushions. For the decorative cushions, stick two sides together. You can leave a gap and fill them with stuffing to make the cushions three-dimensional. Remember to close the gap after stuffing.
Step 5
Fireplace: Using the template, cut out each part of the fireplace and lightly score along the lines (get an adult to help you). Fold and stick the flaps together to form the base, fireplace, and the decorative top of the fireplace. Stick the fireplace onto the base, then stick on the decorative top, on top.
Step 6
Lamp: Using the template cut the lampshade and lampshade support out of purple card and stick the sides of the lampshade together. Trim a paper straw. Paint the straw and a wooden painting stone silver. Stick the silver straw in the centre of the silver, wooden painting stone. Hole punch the centre of the lampshade support. Slide the lampshade support on the straw, you may need glue to secure it in place. Then slide the lampshade on top. For the plant, use the template and cut out the plant pot, lightly scoring along the lines (get an adult to help you). Fold and stick the flaps together to form the plant pot. For the plants, cut out long leaf shapes from green card and add detail with green, white, or black pens. Place different size brown pom poms in the plant pot. Then, slot the plant leaves into place. For other room accessories, use the template and cut the mirror frame out of white card and the mirror from silver metallic card. Remember to cut out the centre of the frame. Stick the mirror to the back of the frame. For the rug, use the template to cut a rectangle out of purple felt.
