Top Tip
To make the clay slightly softer and to stop the clay from cracking you can add water.
How to Make
Step 1
Firstly, roll out your clay to approximately 0.5cm-1cm thick.
Step 2
Cut out a long triangle from the clay using a ruler and plastic modelling tools.
Step 3
Roll the clay from the widest part of the triangle to the narrow part. Then, shape the croissant by curving the ends.
Step 4
Using a piece of thick card or thin piece of plastic create a slit on the top of the clay croissant, this is where the photo will be held. Leave a piece of card or plastic in the slot whist it dries; plastic may be more suitable for this as the card could absorb water and become soggy. Allow the clay to dry overnight.
Step 5
Paint the croissant using acrylic paint, remember to paint a smiley face on the front of the clay croissant.
Step 6
Lastly, varnish the clay croissant to give a shiny finish, remember to not fill the gap where the picture will slot in.
