How to Make

Monster Witch Pumpkin
  1. Clean your pumpkin with soapy water and dry thoroughly.
  2. Use a sponge paint dabber to cover the pumpkin in white acrylic paint. You may need a few coats to cover the pumpkin evenly. Allow to dry.
  3. Use a sponge paint dabber to cover the pumpkin in green acrylic paint. Allow to dry.
  4. Use a sponge paint dabber to cover the pumpkin in green pearlized acrylic paint. It’s alright if it’s a bit patchy as this adds to the effect! Allow to dry.
  5. Stick on two Jumbo Wiggle Eyes. To stick well to the pumpkin’s surface, use some extra glue.
  6. For the witch’s wart, colour in a wiggle eye with a purple deco pen and when dry to the touch stick it to the pumpkin’s cheek with some glue.
  7. For the witch’s teeth, cut some small rectangles from a polystyrene sheet and stick them on in a row using the glue. Alternatively, you can use pieces of white card for your teeth.
  8. For the witch’s hat, download the witch’s hat template here and cut out the shapes. Draw around the shapes onto some felt and cut them out with scissors.
  9. Make a cross in the middle of the felt circle. You can do this by folding the circle in half and snipping a slit in the middle with your scissors, then folding it in half along that snip line and snipping another slit, as indicated on the template.
  10. Place some double-sided tape to one of the straight edges of the fan-shaped felt piece. Remove the backing from the tape and stick the other straight edge to the sticky tape to make a cone shape.
  11. Stick the cone-shape felt piece through the slits you made in the circle-shape felt piece to finish your hat.
  12. Place the hat over the pumpkin stalk. You can use double-sided tape to stick it down more securely.

Spooky Painted Pumpkin
  1. Clean your pumpkin with soapy water and dry thoroughly.
  2. Use a sponge paint dabber to cover the pumpkin in white acrylic paint. You may need a few coats to cover the pumpkin evenly. Allow to dry.
  3. Mix some purple acrylic paint and white acrylic paint to make your light-purple paint. Use a sponge paint dabber to cover the pumpkin in the light-purple paint. Allow to dry.
  4. Mix some orange acrylic paint and white acrylic paint to make your light-orange paint. Write the word ‘Spooky’ in big letters with a pencil, then go over your outline with the light-orange paint, using a small paintbrush. Alternatively, you can use self-adhesive glitter felt letters.
  5. Paint the pumpkin stalk light-orange.
  6. To make your ghosts, stamp some white circles around your ‘Spooky’ using a paint dabber. Then, with a small paintbrush, make a V-shape to make the ghosts tail and fill it in with white paint. When dry, use the black deco pen to make two circle eyes.
  7. In the gaps between your ghosts, draw some bat silhouette shapes with the black deco pen.
  8. To finish your spooky pumpkin, stick on purple self-adhesive gems to the spaces that are left in between the ghosts and the bats.
