Scottish Crafts

We have decorations which are great to make and display – Celtic patterns and St. Andrew’s flags made from blue-and-white tissue are so stirring to see around schools and at St. Andrew’s Day party venues.
It is important for young Scots to look the part on their patron saint’s day. Sewing a sporran – a pouch that acts as a pocket on a kilt – will help boys do this.
Sewing a Loch Ness monster puppet is another one of our ingenious St. Andrews’ activities for children. This is one Nessie which won’t get hidden away!

Making these Scottish crafts will make children want to find out more about their country. When they are reading about heroes such as William Wallace, Robert the Bruce and Robbie Burns, children can keep their place with Scottish colour-in bookmarks; complete with characters playing bagpipes.
